Mining Engineers (Surface) (NOC 2131, 2143)
Jobs in the Mining Engineer classification are primarily found in oil sands operations. These engineers are directly involved in the exploration, testing, surface mine design and construction, and operations phases of oil sands projects. They also design tailing ponds and dikes, and devise methods for transporting bitumen to processing plants. Mining Engineers are typically university graduates of mining engineer programs.
